Western States Auto Theft Investigators – Central Chapter

Organizational Purpose:  The specific and primary purpose is to stimulate interest in the prevention of vehicle theft, vehicle arson and insurance fraud involving vehicles; apprehension of parties responsible for these crimes; and to provide training and education to further these principles.We recognize that, just as law enforcement agencies cannot successfully function independent of one another, auto theft and fraud investigation requires the active participation of the private sector, therefore our membership also includes the insurance industry, automotive security companies, automotive manufactures, car rental companies and the National insurance Crime Bureau.

Chapter Board:  The Central Chapter Board is comprised of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Sergeant of Arms and four non-voting Director at Large positions. See Bylaws for position responsibilities.  

Central Chapter Jurisdiction:  The WSATI Central Chapter services the following counties:  Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, San Juaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Stanislaus and Tulare.

Membership:  Annual membership dues are $10.  See link for membership form which can be emailed to the Central Chapter Treasurer. Dues can be paid via mail or in person. Membership Form

Meetings:   The meetings are conducted on the second Wednesday every other month at locations to be announced.  Meeting fees are $20 which covers meeting fee and lunch. See Meetings for information regarding the next Chapter meeting.

Training:  Independent law enforcement and insurance training sessions are conducted throughout the year.   Most classes are offered at no cost and WSATI membership is not required to attend.
